Before we wave goodbye to Textures's “Dualism”, let me just say: if you haven't heard this album yet, you're a fool — it's one of the true must-hears of 2011. There isn't a wasted minute in the whole album, and listening to it all in one go today again just reminded of how deftly it unseated The Black Dahlia Murder, even with a somewhat softer approach.
However, as much as I'd love to give the day to this gorgeous piece of prog, it's no match for The Human Abstract's “Digital Veil”, every bit the classic that it set out to be. The Human Abstract arpeggiates its way into the Finals, while Textures will have to settle for the Arsies equivalent of the Bronze this year.
Tomorrow, we end the week with our penultimate battle: TesseracT versus Decapitated. And then, on Monday, it's all over!
